Today, we gave a second chance to an old orange tree. π
Its roots were dry.
A large branch had been torn away.
Most of its leaves were gone.
And yet β this tree still had a story to tell. π±
We worked gently, trimming only what was broken.
The roots were soaked overnight, given time to soften and breathe again.
The next day, we planted the tree on a raised bed made from our own compost β built directly on top of the rocky ground.
Because here, we donβt fight the land.
We work with whatβs already there.
The broken side of the tree now faces the morning sun π
Just enough light to support healing, without the harsh burn of the afternoon heat.
To help the roots remember how to grow, we gave the tree a homemade tonic:
fresh aloe vera, blended with raw honey π― and a touch of cinnamon πΏ
A simple, natural remedy β not to force growth, but to gently invite it.
Around the base, we planted a small circle of companions:
marigolds, chives, and basil πΌπ§πΏ
Not decoration β but protection.
Each plant chosen to support the soil, bring balance back underground, and invite life to return.
If this tree survives, it will be the most legendary orange on the land.
Not because it was perfect,
but because it was rooted in care and planted with love. π
